An Adult leaders training camp was organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, North Chennai District at Hoskote camping and Training Center, Perambur. The camp was conducted from 19-25 August 2023.
Ms.Aarthi, Ms.Ilavarasi, Ms.Yamuna and Ms.Sailaja from Dr.Ambedkar Scout Open Group ( A Slum Children STEDS Unit) attended the training camp. Around 61 leaders from various units participated in the camp.
The scout flag was hoisted, thereafter, the group leaders were segregated. Ms.Aarthi and Ms.Ilavarasi were provided the notes on the syllabus which was indeed comprised of the basic course for flock
leaders’ self-learning modules, fundamental principles of BSG etc.
Ms.Yamuna and Ms.Sailaja were provided with a basic course for guides and cub leaders. In addition, information on organizations and associations set up at local areas and districts was detailed.
The activities, comprised of making of handmade crafts, decorative masks, garlands, magic sticks, umbrella tent, bulbul tree etc were taught.
The segregated groups were made to practice the making of crafts. A one-day hike was organized with a visit to Jaigopal Chordia MHSS. A camp fire was also organized for the leaders.
A march past and greeting protocols were also taught in addition to call duty change. Ms.Yamuna was guide captain, so was sailaja, ilavarasi and aarthi led their of respective teams. The leaders were taught about volunteer services, including serving food, sweeping and mopping were also part of the
activities. A faith prayer for all religious communities was held at the camp as part of learning activities. Finally, the leaders planted sampling on the campus before the close of the training camp. All participants were provided certificates and a camp group photo.
